In 2023, The Mikyael Foundation was born out of a lifetime of experiences, challenges, and the unwavering desire of its founder, Sir M. Lind, to give back to communities that helped shape his journey. The foundation marks the next chapter in a life spent innovating and leading in diverse industries—from entertainment to construction to community development.

Early Struggles, Big Dreams: The Humble Beginnings (1993-2004)

Sir M. Lind’s story begins in 1993, when he made the bold decision to leave his hometown of Bangor, Maine, for Orlando, Florida, with just $100 and a dream. The early years were a constant hustle—waiting tables, working in construction, washing dishes, and even selling door-to-door. These jobs weren’t just about making ends meet; they were formative years that built the foundation of his work ethic, resilience, and determination. All the while, Sir M. Lind’s passion for entertainment remained his guiding star.

Turning Passion Into Purpose: Oxygen Entertainment (2004)

By 2004, Sir M. Lind’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to create Oxygen Entertainment, a venture that would not only mark his entry into the entertainment industry but also set the stage for the vast network of projects and businesses he would lead. Oxygen Entertainment allowed Sir M. Lind to channel his love for creativity and business into a company that embraced event planning, media production, and marketing, paving the way for the many ventures to come. This was a crucial moment, as it showed that his future would not just be about personal success—but about using his platform to empower others.

Returning to His Roots: A New Vision for Bangor (2010-2012)

In 2010, after nearly two decades of success in Florida, Sir M. Lind returned to Bangor, Maine, to reconnect with his family and reimagine his professional future. Over the next several years, he built a diverse portfolio of 17 businesses, spanning industries from radio to media production and even consulting for major infrastructure projects. But perhaps his most impactful achievement during this time was his involvement in transforming Bangor’s cultural landscape.

In 2012, Sir M. Lind played a pivotal role in the creation of the Maine Savings Amphitheatre—a concert venue that not only brought national and international acts to the region but also generated millions in economic benefits for the local community. The venue created jobs, boosted tourism, and provided a space for cultural expression, marking a transformative moment in Bangor’s history.

A Legacy of Service: Retirement and a New Calling (2022-2023)

After over 30 years of successful ventures in multiple industries, Sir M. Lind made the decision to retire at the age of 48 in 2022. But rather than stepping away from the world of business entirely, he chose to channel his energy into something even more meaningful: philanthropy. Inspired by his own experiences and the lessons learned over a lifetime of leadership, Sir M. Lind set out to create The Mikyael Foundation—a nonprofit organization with a deep commitment to strengthening communities in need.

In June 2023, The Mikyael Foundation was officially launched in St. Petersburg, Florida. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for Sir M. Lind and his mission to give back. As the foundation grew, it quickly became clear that its impact could be even more powerful with a deeper connection to his roots. As of January 1st 2026, the foundation moved its headquarters to Bangor, Maine, where Sir M. Lind’s journey had begun. This shift was both a return to home and an opportunity to build on his legacy of community transformation.
